The new year is here, and Tualatin, Oregon, is kicking off 2026 with a month full of winter activities that bring neighbors together. Whether you're looking to sample craft beverages, join free library programs, or explore the region's best winter events, this month offers plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy your community.

Winter Brew Fest Coming January 31

Get ready for the biggest beer event of the season. The Tualatin Winter Brew Fest returns on Saturday, January 31, for its 7th year at Stickmen Brewing Company. This all-day fundraiser benefiting Tualatin High School PackBackers brings together more than 20 local breweries, cider houses, and vineyards serving seasonal and specialty drinks you won't find anywhere else.

Your $30 advance ticket ($35 at the door) includes a custom commemorative glass and 10 drink tickets to sample craft beers, northwest ciders, and local wines. The event runs from 1:00 to 8:30 pm, and features live music throughout, including Bronwen Roberts & Zachary Smith from 1 to 3 pm and After Market playing 80s and 90s rock from 6 to 8 pm.

Hungry? Food trucks will keep you fueled with wood-fired pizzas from Stickmen and grilled sandwiches from Four Corners Grilled Sandwich Co. For extra fun, Celtic Axe Thrower is offering special pricing at $15 for 15 throws or unlimited throwing for $30 per person. This is your chance to support local students while enjoying the best of Pacific Northwest craft beverages.

Participating breweries include Breakside Brewery, Hopworks Brewery, pFriem Family Brewers, Great Notion, Sasquatch Brewing Company, Portland Cider Co., Bauman's Cider, and many more. Tickets are on sale now, and you can add a custom TWBF beanie to your order.

Library Programs Happening All Month

The Tualatin Public Library keeps families busy with free weekly programs designed for every age group. Book Babies meets every Monday at 10:30 am, perfect for lap-sit storytime with infants and toddlers up to 18 months old. Tiny Tots gathers on Tuesday mornings at 10:30 am for interactive stories and songs, while Preschool Storytime happens on Thursdays at 1:00 pm for children ages 3 to 6.

Creative types will love the Makerspace Open Lab, which opens every Saturday and Sunday afternoon from 1:30 to 5:30 pm. These drop-in sessions give you hands-on time with new technologies and craft projects in a welcoming environment.

Mark your calendar for Tuesday, January 28, when Taphouse Trivia returns to Stickmen Brewing from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. Hosted by Librarian Doug, this popular monthly event mixes brain-teasing questions with great food, drinks, and prizes. It's the perfect mid-week activity for adults looking to connect with neighbors while testing their knowledge.

Regional Winter Fun Continues

If you're willing to venture just outside Tualatin, the Winter Village at Orenco Station in nearby Hillsboro continues through January 10. This outdoor ice skating rink offers one-hour public skate sessions on Thursdays through Sundays at 10 am, 11:30 am, 1 pm, and 2:30 pm. Skating lessons are also available for those wanting to improve their skills on the ice.

The City of Tualatin reminds residents that both the Tualatin Public Library and Juanita Pohl Center serve as warming locations during their regular hours. These comfortable community spaces offer the perfect spot to read, relax, or escape the winter chill while staying connected with your neighbors.
