Founders Day 2026 – A Celebration of West Point

Mark your calendars for Friday, March 13th, 2026, as the Founders Day 2026 event will be held at the Tualatin Country Club, located at 9145 SW Tualatin Rd, Tualatin, OR. The event celebrates 224 years of the United States Military Academy at West Point and provides a wonderful opportunity for alumni, cadets, and friends of West Point to gather and enjoy a memorable evening.

The night will feature Brigadier General R.J. Garcia, the Commandant of Cadets at West Point, as the special guest speaker. His presence adds a distinguished touch to the event and offers attendees a chance to hear firsthand about the academy’s rich history and ongoing legacy.

What to Expect at the Event

The evening will begin at 5:00 PM with a Cadet Candidate Briefing for candidates and families. At 6:00 PM, the Benny Havens Hour will begin, offering a relaxed atmosphere for networking and mingling. Dinner will be served at 7:00 PM, featuring a delicious menu including Slow Roasted Pork Loin with herb crust and Mixed Mushrooms, Salmon Rustica with fire-roasted peppers, and a plant-based option for those who prefer it. A no-host bar will be available from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM, and wine will be served with dinner.

Getting There and Staying Nearby

For those driving from Portland, take Exit 289 from I-5 towards SW Nyberg St, continue on SW Tualatin-Sherwood Rd, then turn right onto SW 90th Ave. Ample parking is available on-site.

Registration and Costs

Registration is required by March 6th, 2026. The event meal costs $85, annual dues for West Point Society of Oregon members are $25, and cadets or cadet candidates can attend at no charge. Payment options include online registration via Sallyport, or mail, check, Venmo, PayPal, or Zelle arrangements by contacting alicewp94@gmail.com.

Safety is a priority, and anyone feeling unwell is asked to refrain from attending. The Tualatin Country Club will follow state and CDC guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable evening for all attendees.
